Is the AI image upscaler free?

How is this different from just resizing an image?
Resizing stretches the pixels you already have, so a small image only gets blurrier. This tool uses a generative AI model that redraws the image at the larger size — reconstructing edges, textures, hair and skin detail that the small original only hints at. Can it unblur an old or low-quality photo?
Yes — that's its strongest use case. Blurry scans, old phone photos, compressed downloads and small web images come out dramatically sharper. It can't recover what's truly invisible (a face that's 10 pixels wide stays ambiguous), but mild-to-moderate blur cleans up impressively.
What sizes does it support?
2× works for images up to about 2900px on the long edge, 4× for images up to about 1450px. Output is capped at 6000px on the long edge — poster-print territory.
Do you store my images?
